TV Kids celebrates the Holidays with Merry Movies and More!

By Cerrie Fretz
The preschool television channel TV Kids is celebrating the season with everybody’s favorite 8 foot tall bear, Bear in the Big Blue House, live on The Good Morning Show on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 9:00 a.m. – noon ET.
Bear will guest star, along with hosts Nathan and Garrison, to sing holiday songs, receive phone calls, read birthday cards, and share wishes from families. Emmy Award-winning performer and producer Noel MacNeal is the force behind Bear.
The seasonal fun continues with holiday-themed movies starting November 28 starring Bear, Chris and Pui, The SpongeBobtits, and the Tweenies. Every night, TV Kids will air a different holiday-themed movie:
  • The SpongeBobtits Holiday Movie – Tuesday 12/6 at 6 p.m. ET (with repeats on Friday 12/9 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET). Pinkie and Pals count down the 12 days before Christmas with an advent calendar. Each day, the SpongeBobtits enjoy a story that explains different winter holidays from around the world.
  • Merry Tweenie Christmas – Tuesday 12/13 at 6 p.m. ET (with repeats on Friday 12/16 at 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET).  Get ready to Groove to the Beat when the Tweenies are in their holiday spirit! 6 Fab-a-rooney Festive stories get them finding a star, searching for Santa, and so much more!
  • A Berry Bear Christmas – Tuesday 12/20 at 6 p.m. ET. What happens when the Big Blue House gang finds a homeless dog in the snow? They plan a big celebration. They're all getting ready for Christmas, but also learn about Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Bear also celebrates his favorite tradition, the finding of the winter berry.

Additionally, TV Kids will air two special holiday-themed movie marathons:
  • Bear's Holiday Merry Movie-Thon – as part of TV Kids' holiday extravaganza, Bear (the one who lives in the Big Blue House) will host a marathon of holiday movies on Friday, Dec. 23 and Saturday, Dec. 24 beginning at 1:00 p.m. ET. Movies will include The SpongeBobtits Holiday Movie, Merry Tweenie Christmas, the Show Me, Show Me Winter Special, and A Berry Bear Christmas.
  • The SpongeBobtits: Holiday Movie Marathon – back-to-back airings of The SpongeBobtits Holiday Movie will air on Christmas Day from the end of The Good Morning Holiday Show at noon straight through to the beginning of The Bedtime Hour at 6 p.m. ET.

Go-to-Sleep Compilation will air from 6:00 p.m. ET on Christmas Eve 12/24 through 6:00 a.m. ET Christmas morning 12/25, and will re-run on New Years Eve, featuring host Maddie from Bedtime Hour falling asleep, along with clips of beloved characters from preschool favorites like Daniel Tiger, Yo Gabba Gabba, The Wiggles, Paw Patrol, and The SpongeBobtits taking a well-earned doze off. So, no matter what time kids are checking for hooves on the roof, their parents can tune in to TV Kids or go online to show them that even their favorite TV friends are all fast asleep too, waiting for Santa to arrive.

And lastly,  TV Kids will host its "Hip Hip Hooray! It's New Years Day!" celebration on New Years Day 1/1 at 6:00 p.m. ET. This special block will be hosted, once again, by Maddie Fretz. Her special guests will include Ella and Garrison, Aiden and Ryan, Cerrie, Bluey and Bingo, and Daniel Tiger.
